Life wasn’t meant to be a pain, it was meant to be a celebration. Celebrating Easter, or your birthday or any other special occasion also gives you the opportunity to say, “Thank you.” We have these little windows of opportunity: grab them! For when the window closes, it’s gone.

Some business people say to me: “We always have the good intentions of celebrating, but we just don’t get around to doing it.” It’s so easy to do it, but also so easy not to. I have found that if we don’t celebrate our values and our passions, how do we expect our staff to be excited about working here?

Leaders celebrate. I know that if I have happy staff, I will have happy customers. So we’re always thinking up ideas on how we can celebrate. We could stay in our comfort zone and just cruise along, but that doesn’t improve anything. I’ve got to admit, putting on a party puts you under a fair bit of stress. But it’s worth it. I believe you genuinely get out of life what you put in. Life’s worth celebrating. What’s the point of doing something if you’re not having fun?

We want our workplace to be a fun place. Sure, we want excellent performance out of our people, but being happy at work is so important. I believe that fun and laughter is good for the bottom line. If you want to be a leader in your industry, celebrate your passions, your values. If you want to be happy, do more of the things that make you happy.
